As it turns out, Stallone seems to have dedicated a good amount of thought to this matter, all of which he shared in a lengthy Instagram post that analyzes this epic fight from almost every angle. Starting from the same tale of the tape described above, Stallone makes clear this would be street fight, hence no rules, before arriving to the conclusion that Rocky would win if both men remained upright. “His body punches and Right Hooks Would eventually beat Rambo,” explained Stallone, adding that Rocky has a good chance of landing the first five or hits on Rambo.

However, if Rocky was unable to quickly get rid of Rambo, Stallone says the latter would get the W if the fight were to be longer. “If the fight goes to the ground, Rambo will prevail in a bloody brutal fight to the end…,” said Stallone, adding that he has a hard time imagining Rambo getting knocked down by a few early punches. It’s fair to say Rocky shouldn’t expect anything but a good clean fight from Rambo, with the actor expecting “incredibly vicious assaults on the eyes, the throat, every vulnerable part of the body eventually leading to being pulled to the ground and most likely mauled.”

Lastly, Stallone’s final take is that none of the two men would come out of that fight being the same, as it is kind of hard to imagine such a fight being anything but a deathmatch. In Rocky’s defense, the entire franchise is about resilience in one of the best underdog stories of all time, so anyone who knows anything about cinema or boxing would probably give Rocky a shot since the fictional sporting icon can usually make it past 12 rounds at the very least.

The latest Rocky-related event was the release of a Rocky 4 Director’s Cut that adds a few extra scenes, though not much in terms depth to the Cold War relic. Beyond that, Adonis Creed is all Rocky fans will be getting in the future, although Stallone won’t be in Creed 3 after fully passing the torch to Michael B. Jordan.
