Beloved comedian Saget, 65, was found unresponsive in his hotel room in Orlando, Florida, on Sunday, several hours after he had performed at a stand-up comedy show in Jacksonville. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Somers, 75, appeared remotely for an interview on Australian talk show Studio 10 when one of the hosts, Angela Bishop, broke the conversation to reveal Saget’s passing.

After the details surrounding Saget’s death were shared, Three’s Company actress Somers, who had guest-starred on Saget’s classic sitcom Full House in the past, said as Bishop returned attention to her for comment: “I’m hearing it from you.”

“I would appear on his show from time to time, because right next door at Warner Bros. was my set for Step By Step, where I starred with Patrick Duffy,” she said i a video shared on the Channel 10 show’s official Twitter account.

“We would go over to the Full House set, and it was kind of this wonderful thing that was going on at Warner Bros. at that time,” Somers recounted.

Deeming the news “sad,” Somers, who spoke from her home in Los Angeles, added: “I can’t believe it. He’s so young… I’m so, so sorry. He was a great guy. Really nice.”
