The table below shows the absolute very best equipment for each slot for Survival Hunter. We’ve also included the Best Gems and Best Enchants for them as well.
- Jewelcrafting: Replace any 3 Delicate Scarlet Ruby with Delicate Dragon’s Eye. Replace 1 Delicate Scarlet Ruby with 1 Delicate Stormjewel.

Best Head For Survival Hunter In WotLK Phase 2
For the headpiece, the one from Algalon is going to be far better than anything else. The set bonuses are pretty decent so aim for 4 piece when possible.

Best Neck For Survival Hunter In WotLK Phase 2
Some great options for the neck slot and some that include hit rating if needed to reach the hit cap. The Emblem necklace is also a great use of the currency if drop rates are unlucky and you don’t need hit.

Best Shoulder For Survival Hunter In WotLK Phase 2
Most of the drops are going to come from 25M but the best shoulder comes from the 10-man hardmode, and fortunately, it’s the first boss.

Interestingly the 10m hardmode is better than the 25m hardmode due to the stat allocation and 2 gem sockets.

Best Chest For Survival Hunter In WotLK Phase 2
Being a leather item, there are about 7 other specs that have this item as BIS, might be best to stick with the mail options or Tier or for the set bonus for now. Ignore the socket bonus on the BiS for straight Agility gems.

Another leather piece for bis but might not be as contested as other pieces.

Best Gloves For Survival Hunter In WotLK Phase 2
Again, the top choice is going to be hard to get and is bis for other specs as well. The tier gloves are going to be great to fill out the 4-piece. There are a number of Leather options for gloves out there as well and they would be just as good as any of the options here from rank 3 and below.

The top item is going to be well contested for bis, however, there are 2 crafted leatherworking options that are just slighty worse but do provide 2 sockets as well.

The Rings from either the 10m or 25m quests to defeat Algalon are going to be BiS for many specs, most of the other options are also going to be well contested; Good Luck! If you are fortunate to have a Surge Needle, that is still a respectable option until upgrading.

We still have to hold onto the darkmoon card for BiS and the next best trinket is also Best in slot for many other specs. Make sure to sim your trinkets because some others from Phase 1 are still good to use! There’s also 2 Hit Rating options as well, and they provide a huge portion of it too.

There are a 2 one handed options that are good but should be given priority to melee classes like rogues and shamans. Save your DKP!

The top choice is far better than the rest and has a chance to drop from two bosses! The Dwarf racial doesn’t provide a significant enough stat boost to focus on the 2nd option over the 1st.

Best Gems For Survival Hunter In Phase 2 - Ulduar
There is a new class of epic gems that players can get from the fishing daily, Stormjewels. They are not soulbound so players can purchase them at the auction house. For Survival Hunters they’ll want to replace one of their Delicate Scarlet Ruby with a Delicate Stormjewel. For each individual socket type here are the gems that players will want to focus on getting for Survival Hunters:
Meta Gem Socket
The Agi and Crit bonus requires socketing 1 of each color, typically Survival Hunters focus on Pure Agility from Red gems, ignoring socket bonuses. However, using one Enchanted Tear and one Glinting Monarch Topaz where the socket bonus is Agility is a good idea.

For red sockets focus on Agility provided by these gems.
Delicate Dragon’s Eye x3 (Jeweler’s Gem) Delicate Stormjewel x1 (Fishing Daily) Delicate Scarlet Ruby

Best Enchants For Survival Hunter In Phase 2 - Ulduar
The list below shows which enchants players will want to use for their Survival Hunter. These will likely be the same from Phase 1. Head and Shoulder enchants can be found via Reputation and the rest are from the professions (Enchanting, Leatherworking, and Blacksmithing) and can often be found at the Auction House. Some professions provide a better option that is Exclusive to the character that has the profession and should be used instead of the other options.
