The TikTok recounting the situation, captioned, “We thought we would surprise the kiddos with a visit from the Easter bunny…. It went terribly wrong… 11/10 do not recommend #ComeDanceWithMe #ScreamItOut #TurboTaxAndRelax #OhNo,” has been viewed 504,100 times and liked 35,800 times since it was shared on April 14.

According to a Delta Dental survey, 68 percent of children between three and five believe in the Easter Bunny, whereas kids 12 and under believe 58 percent of the time. The Easter Bunny is most popular in the Midwest where 64 percent of kids still believe.

The 27-second clip, posted by TikToker @bad0793, or Bridget Ann, began with six children, two of whom were barely walking age, gathered by the front door to a home as the TikToker filmed and music played.

On the other side of the door was a person dressed as the Easter Bunny, and immediately when one of the older girls opened the door, she screamed in fright, simultaneously sending all of the other children into a blur of motion and tears. Many bolted and cried out as the Easter Bunny walked inside the house.

One of the youngest children, a little boy, who was quite close to the Easter Bunny, started to cry as he dropped to the floor and proceeded to crawl away as fast as he could. Another little girl, who was cornered at the door, broke down while standing near the unexpected guest in the doorway who was standing quite still. The parents, most of whom were filming the event, could be seen snickering at the mayhem.

Next, there were a few pictures of some of the kids attempting to take a photo with the Easter Bunny on the couch.

The girl who was seen trapped by the door was actively trying to escape the Easter Bunny’s lap when the picture was taken.

The next picture was of the youngest boy, who also thought he could wriggle away as a man walked in the side of the frame, presumably to console the crying toddler.

Finally, another young child was perched on the Easter Bunny’s knee, clearly not enjoying it.

However, there was a positive outcome in the end. In a comment, the creator revealed, “We thought we were going to make them so happy! Almost all of them were fine within a few minutes and took pictures with the bunny!”

Over 2,500 comments have come in over the Easter Bunny visit that went awry, and some people saw the humor in the situation.

Many people had jokes in regard to the visit. “It’s the Easter bunny from a Stephen King novel,” a TikToker said.

Some people saw the usefulness in the outcome. “Lol… Now all you have to say, if you don’t go to bed or eat your dinner the Easter bunny will knock on [the] door!” a viewer pointed out.

Another TikToker admitted they are a mother, and they laughed “hysterically.” They also added, “I know all the kids are fine. I felt bad for the Easter bunny.”

A TikToker thinks the moment is something the parents “will be able to show those kids when they get older to laugh back on. Memories!”

Some people appreciated the unexpected visitor’s surprise arrival. “This is the funniest thing I’ve seen in a long time,” a viewer said.

While one viewer called it “a rite of passage being terrorized and scarred for life.”

However, not everyone some on board when it comes to the viral moment. “I really do not understand why this is funny,” a TikToker said, while another viewer added, “They are terrified and traumatized.”

“I don’t find it funny when people frighten children,” another commenter said.

This isn’t the only viral moment involving kids this week.

A teenager brought a toaster to school along with Pop-Tarts, serving them to his classmates.

In another TikTok video, a middle school teacher asked her students what they wish adults “understood” about them, and they offered up eye-opening responses, and a toddler was filmed dancing along to an Eminem song.
