As of writing, Nintendo has yet to even publicly allude to Simon Belmont being a possibility as a playable character for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, but that’s not to say that the Castlevania protagonist couldn’t be added as DLC at some point down the line. After all, the Big N has included crossover fighters as add-ons before, with the likes of Final Fantasy 7’s Cloud Strife, Street Fighter 5’s Ryu, and the titular star of Bayonetta all joining the fray as post-launch materials for the 3DS and Wii U editions.

Taking all of this into account, there’s no telling if Castlevania’s Simon Belmont is actually on the way as a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate character, but the fact that Vergeben was spot on with three out of the four predictions proffered several weeks ago before the game’s display at E3 2018 could count for something. Of course, it’s best to take the detail with a grain of salt until Nintendo confirms that the forthcoming fighting game will include the renowned vampire hunter.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is currently scheduled to release on December 7, 2018 for Nintendo Switch.
