Over a week after its launch, and the online multiplayer in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate still leaves a lot to be desired. The online was notoriously laggy on day one, to the point that it was basically unplayable in many cases. While things have improved rather significantly since then, lag is still prevalent enough to make Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s online hugely disappointing. The developers will hopefully iron out the kinks in the coming months, but even so, it’s a shame that Nintendo continues to struggle with online....

As of writing, Nintendo has yet to even publicly allude to Simon Belmont being a possibility as a playable character for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, but that’s not to say that the Castlevania protagonist couldn’t be added as DLC at some point down the line. After all, the Big N has included crossover fighters as add-ons before, with the likes of Final Fantasy 7’s Cloud Strife, Street Fighter 5’s Ryu, and the titular star of Bayonetta all joining the fray as post-launch materials for the 3DS and Wii U editions....

Just a week removed from Nintendo adding a new stage to the game, the new event will allow players to earn triple the amount of SP and earn a new item while completing spirit battles. The item will damage minion fighters during spirit battles starting this Friday and running through the weekend only. Despite the focus on spirits, no new spirits will be added to the game prior or during the event....

After taking office in January, President Joe Biden has sought to halt funding for the border wall construction that was pushed by his predecessor. The Biden administration had argued that the Supreme Court did not need to weigh in on the border wall funding case because the project was closed down by the new administration. But the Court’s Monday ruling called for a reassessment of the case, given the new circumstances under which the project is being considered and with a different administration in the White House....

News of the lawsuit against the Champlain Towers South Condominium Association became public on Monday. The complaint was filed on behalf of Steve Rosenthal in the circuit court of the 11th judicial circuit of Miami-Dade County. Rosenthal is seeking unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial. Rosenthal’s suit is the second one made public since the building’s collapse. Rosenthal’s attorney Robert McKee spoke with ABC affiliate WPLG regarding the suit....

Survivor Season 41, Episode 5 (entitled “The Strategist or the Loyalist”) finally seemed to strike a balance that the show has been struggling to hit all season. Season 41 has been very advantage-heavy, with not enough focus on the players or their individual strategies - at least, until Episode 4. This week, the show has proven that it will be able to give the advantages and the players and their relationships an equal amount of focus without one overpowering the other (though many fans would be fine if the focus of Survivor leaned more heavily in the direction of the players)....

The man’s identity has not yet been released and the paintings have not yet been recovered, the Associated Press reported. According to police spokesperson Maren Wonder, the man was arrested at his home in the Dutch town of Baarn, which is located about 25 miles southeast of Amsterdam. “Unfortunately, we haven’t yet recovered the paintings and the investigation is continuing,” Wonder said in an announcement on Tuesday. However, she called the arrest “a really important step in the investigation,” the AP reported....

According to authorities, Matthew Thomas Bernard, 18, of Keeling is related to two of the victims. He was taken into custody Tuesday and charged in a crime that Pittsylvania County Sheriff Mike Taylor called “a shock to our community,” according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch, which recounted the bizarre events leading up to Bernard’s apprehension after alerts swept through social media and a reverse-911 system to warn area residents Bernard was being sought and was considered “very dangerous....

The league announced Wednesday that Jackson has been suspended indefinitely without pay. Jackson was also suspended indefinitely in August 2012. He was given what was expected to be his final chance to play again when the NFL reinstated him in May. The Redskins re-signed him, and he said during a spring practice that this time would be different in part because of the “humbling experience” of having to work in a warehouse during his suspension....

The Swiss Federal Court confirmed a Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) ruling last year that upheld Platini’s ban, a decision stemming from a 2 million Swiss francs ($2.08 million) payment the former French soccer great received from FIFA in 2011. Experts studied tens of thousands of period photographs from 1931 onward to reconstruct early 20th-century climate patterns. Between 1931 and 2016, the glaciers lost almost half their volume, according to the study. But between 2016 and 2021, they lost a further 12 percent. The study was published Monday in the not-for-profit international scientific journal The Cryosphere. “Glacier retreat is accelerating. The total glacier volume is now decreasing at an ever faster rate,” said study co-author Professor Daniel Farinotti....
